Where to Stay in Prague

Compared to other European capitals, Prague is pretty small. This means no matter where you decide to stay there, you’ll almost always be within walking distance of the best landmarks and attractions.

If this is your first time visiting Prague, we recommend staying in Old Town. The most centrally located neighborhood in the city, Old Town is where you’ll find most of the major historical sites, such as the Astronomical Clock, Old Town Square, and the Royal Route. New Town is another great pick. Despite its misleading name (it was founded in 1348!), New Town is home to a handful of historic attractions, as well as many fascinating museums. It’s perfect for when you want to be close to all the landmarks of Old Town, but you don’t want to stay in the hustle and bustle of the busy neighborhood.

A wonderful choice for families, Malá Strana (also known as Lesser Town or Little Quarter) is a much quieter area that still has easy access to the most important sites. 5. Three Storks

Tucked away in the peaceful Malá Strana neighborhood, Three Storks is located just under Prague Castle and only steps away from countless cafes, bakeries, and restaurants you won’t be able to resist! The building dates all the way back to the 14th century and has been carefully restored. The designers kept as many of the original characteristics as possible while adding some great modern touches.

The rooms here are truly exceptional and like nothing we’ve ever seen before. Contemporary beds with string lighting underneath juxtapose with original domed ceilings, while colorful space-age furniture contrasts with ancient castle views, which haven’t changed in centuries! 

There’s a super cool back-lit bar, as well as a traditional restaurant where you can savor classic Czech dishes. Although with so many amazing dining options within your immediate surroundings, you might never get to try them. 

We do recommend making time for the breakfast buffet, though. It’s filled with healthy, nourishing goodies to fill up on before exploring the city.

6. Pod Vezi

An intimate boutique hotel made up of two neighboring historic buildings, Pod Vezi is an excellent place to stay if you want to be close to all of Prague’s main sites, but far enough away that you don’t have to worry about getting a good night’s sleep.

If you love a room with a view, you’re in luck! Every single room at Pod Vezi has an incredible view, whether of the Charles Bridge, Malá Strana, Dražického Square, or the hotel’s beautiful inner courtyard.

Restaurant Onas is a superb place to indulge in some of Prague’s most iconic dishes. But if you’re in the mood for something a little different, there’s also Café Creperie. 7. The Emblem Hotel

A small boutique hotel set a one-minute walk away from Wenceslas Square, Design Hotel Jewel Prague is made up of just 11 guest rooms, giving it a low-key, welcoming vibe. Each guest room is named after a precious stone and decorated in an unassuming yet luxurious style. 

Simple single rooms are available if you’re traveling alone. But if you’re traveling with at least one other person, or you’re visiting for more than a couple of days, we recommend one of the business or superior rooms. 

Decorated in a color scheme that matches its name, these rooms are small but beautiful and come with a pillow menu, nightly turndown service, luxury Resuinsa linen and towels, and natural Eco Boutique cosmetics.

Jewel Café Bar is a funky place you’ve got to visit. Decorated with more than 10,000 sparkling crystals, this venue offers guests a new seasonal menu every two months. If you’re not hungry, you can try one of their classic cocktails or special martinis instead!

9. Golden Well

One of the most unique hotels in Prague, thanks to its captivating history, Golden Well is an excellent choice if you want to stay somewhere that’s bursting with character. Originally owned by Rudolf II, the emperor of the Habsburg monarchy, the hotel has been completely renovated, although it still boasts a handful of items related to the hotel’s past.

You can choose between 17 rooms and two suites, each of which is named in honor of a famous person from Prague’s history. From French windows, luxurious fabrics, reproduction antiques, and genuine artwork to in-room iPads, Nespresso or Illy coffee machines, Wi-Fi access, and smart TVs, the rooms here deliver the best of both worlds.

As the main structure of the building has been kept intact, the indoor corridors can seem like a maze. 10. Hotel Maximilian

Located in one of the most peaceful parts of the Jewish Quarter, Hotel Maximillian is the ideal place to stay if you want to be within walking distance of the attractions of the Old Town but want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
