When I think of the term “diaper bag”, I envision a giant, ugly canvas bag with too many pockets and a slight stench of spit-up. I have refused to purchase any specifically labeled as a diaper bag because they tend to be overpriced and unattractive. And instead, I’ve used bags that are large enough to carry everything I need for my baby, but still cute enough that I’ll use in the future for things other than diapers.
That being said, I do see the value in features that can only be found in bags that are specifically meant for diapers – like insulated pockets and changing pads.
So I’ve compiled a list of 10 stylish but also functional diaper bags that don’t necessarily look like “diaper bags”. And you’ll be able to use them long after your baby is out of diapers. Two of the bags below are diaper bags that I’ve actually used in the 9 months since my son was born and the others come highly recommended.
Hopefully, you’ll find one from the list that suits your unique style!

8 Cute Diaper Bags that Blend Style & Function
1. Xinh Weekender Bag
The Xinh Weekender Bag is the brainchild of myself after spending loads of time scouring Vietnam for a stylish but functional leather diaper bag. The main compartment is spacious enough to hold all of your baby essentials plus there are plenty of pockets both on the inside and the outside of the bag to keep you organized.
This weekender works great for a diaper bag but it’s also a bag that you can use for years to come. Whether it’s for a weekend getaway or to bring to work with your laptop and gym clothes – it’s bound to be your favorite stylish, large duffel bag.
Xinh bags are made in a small workshop in Ho Chi Minh City and incorporate fabric that is handmade by the Hmong Minority Group in Northern Vietnam. The leather is soft, supple, and specially ordered from Italy. And they are all custom designed by me!
2. Ruvalino Travel Backpack
Okay so you’re probably not going to use this Ruvalino Travel Backpack for anything other than a diaper bag, but it’s a low key and really convenient backpack that doesn’t scream “diaper bag”. It’s compact and the backpack straps are convenient when you’re juggling your bag and your baby. Plus it’s super durable so it will hold up, possibly even for multiple babies!
The best thing about this backpack diaper bag is how easy it is to keep all of your baby essentials organized. The mesh pocket organizers are perfect for diapers and wipes, and the front pocket is insulated with special pockets to keep bottles upright.
This cute, compact backpack will be great to use as your kids grow to toddler age as well. It’s simple and durable and really reasonably priced.
3. Wayuu Bucket Bag
This Wayuu Bucket Bag is what I initially used as a diaper bag before switching to a Xinh Weekender Bag. I originally bought this bag in Colombia before realizing that they are reasonably priced on Amazon and there are so many amazing color options to choose from.
The Wayuu Bucket Bag is convenient because it’s just one large compartment. There are no pockets on the inside or outside. And it has some stretch so you can really stuff it full of diaper bag essentials if you need to. And the straps are perfect for hanging any toys that won’t fit inside.
The other great thing about the Wayuu Bucket Bag is that babies find the black and white geometric pattern absolutely fascinating. And they love playing with the giant tassel. So if you forget to bring toys to keep your baby entertained you don’t have to worry because they’ll be totally enamored with your diaper bag!
4. Allcamp Convertable Diaper Bag

This stylish diaper bag is made of waterproof fabric so it’s easy to clean and durable. Plus it has insulated bottle pockets to keep bottles cold while you’re out and about. There are loads of convenient pockets to keep you organized. The central compartment has lots of room for everything you need for you and your baby while you’re out and about.
You could use this tote long after your babies are out of diapers since it doesn’t look like a typical diaper bag. It just looks like a stylish backpack with lots of handy pockets!
5. Ultra Lightweight Diaper Bag
This Ultra Lightweight Diaper Bag will be great to use for hiking or travel since it weighs just 18.5 oz, is water repellent, and is made of tear-resistant nylon fabric. Plus it has a sporty look that will work perfectly if you live in stretchy pants as I do.
You can wear this practical diaper bag as a backpack or a shoulder tote, but it also has detachable stroller clips and a luggage handle strap so all your gear fits together. And the 2 insulated pockets are great for keeping bottles chilled or for keeping your water bottle cold while on a hike. There are plenty of other pockets to help keep all of your baby essentials organized and easy to find.

My favorite feature of this Skip Hop bag is that it has packing cubes – one is insulated for bottles and beverages and the other is a mesh multipurpose cube. They’ll keep your diaper bag necessities organized but also easily accessible in a pinch. And the convenient changing pad pocket can be used as a laptop holder when you transition it from a diaper bag to an everyday bag.
This cute, quilted diaper bag has a shoulder strap, a top handle, and backpack straps that double as stroller straps so you can carry it in whatever manner is most comfortable for you.
