INFORMATION FROM THE HAVASUPAI FACEBOOK PAGE: There are no new reservations available in 2023. We know in years past that February 1 is the date to get the current year’s permits — that is not the case for 2023. The only way to go in 2023 is to purchase off the transfer list. Reservations for 2024 are not available until February 2024.

Havasu Falls is arguably one of the most beautiful spots in the entire United States and people travel from all over the world to visit it every year. But as with many other epic landscapes, Havasu Falls isn’t exactly easy to get to. The Havasu Falls is a 10-mile trek from the trailhead, and the trailhead is 70 miles from the nearest town.

No matter where in the world you are coming from, if you want to visit Havasu Falls, you’ll undoubtedly need to arrange accommodations nearby either before you start the hike, after you finish, or both. So we’ve compiled a list of the best hotels that are near the trailhead, as well as near the closest airports, to help you prepare for your upcoming visit. Enjoy!

Hotels in Peach Springs, Arizona

Peach Springs, Arizona is the closest town to the Havasupai Trail Head. It’s just 65 miles and will take you about an hour and a half to drive from the town to the trailhead parking lot. The hotels here aren’t luxurious by any means, but you won’t care about that after spending several nights sleeping on the ground at Havasu Falls!

The hotels in Peach Springs are also a good choice to stay in before your hike if you want to get an early start.

If you need to take a flight to get to Havasu Falls, Flagstaff, Arizona is probably your best bet. While the airport (FLG) is small, they are adding more destinations every year. The city of Flagstaff is approximately 165 miles and a 3-hour drive from the Havasu Falls trailhead.

If your hometown isn’t serviced by the Flagstaff airport, you may be required to fly into Las Vegas, Nevada which is approximately 225 miles from the Havasu Falls trailhead. It’s not as ideal as you’ll spend about four hours in the car, but it’s worth it to visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the United States!

It’s an hour and 45 minutes from the airport, and two hours and 20 minutes from the Havasu Falls trailhead.

You’ll love the indoor pool and hot tub that is offered at the La Quinta, as well as the delicious complimentary breakfast, served daily. Rooms are large and incredibly clean with sleek, modern decor. It’s close enough to the McCarran airport without worrying about the chaos of Las Vegas.

The south entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park is just 190 miles from the Havasu Falls trailhead. There are several hotel and campground options inside the park, just make sure you book them well in advance.
