Where to Stay in Hoi An Old Town, Vietnam (Best Boutique Hotels)

The 8 Best Boutique Hotels in Hoi An, Vietnam

If you are planning a trip to Vietnam, you’ll undoubtedly visit the darling little city in the center of the country – Hoi An. It’s an incredibly popular tourist destination and for good reason! The pedestrian streets that run through the center of the Old Town are lined by old, yellow colonial-style buildings and colorful lanterns hang overhead.

We’ve visited Hoi An many times and find that we prefer to stay outside of the center of town, either on An Bang Beach or in a smaller village nearby where the hotels are surrounded by rice paddy fields. Most of these hotels have a private shuttle and free bicycles available for guests so it’s easy to get around.

  1. Hi, thank you for a great and inspiring article. I have a couple of questions that you might have the answers to.
We’re going to Hoi An for the lantern festival beginning of January 2023. Travelling with a 3 and 5yr old.

Is it worth getting a hotel with a pool in the beginning of January or is it too cold in Hoi An at that time?

Is it nice by the beach in January or is it very quiet and cold? Would it be a nice place to celebrate New Year’s Eve (31/12). Or any tip if other places in Vietnam that would be nice for New Years celebrations?!
