Koh Samui, Thailand: The 7 Best Hotels and Resorts on the Island
One of our favorite hotels on Koh Samui, Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa is a small resort located on the northern end of the island, near the Fisherman’s Village. The size of the resort is the ideal place to stay for anyone who prefers a more personalized experience. You’ll be treated like royalty by the incredibly helpful and attentive staff and when it comes time to depart, you won’t want to leave!
Zazen offers both bungalows and villas that are decorated beautifully in a traditional Thai style. Rooms are large and spacious with big windows and high ceilings to let in a lot of natural light. All rooms include a flat-screen television and plenty of amenities that you’ll appreciate during your stay.
You can take advantage of the pristine outdoor pool or the luxurious spa during your stay at the Zazen. Or you can take one of the yoga classes offered. You’ll love the little extras provided by the resort including complimentary massages on the beach, sunscreen, and fresh fruit. The beachfront restaurant offers delicious Thai and international dishes or you can enjoy high tea in Le Salon de Ti.
Also located at the northern end of Koh Samui, Bo Phut Resort & Spa is just a short walk from the lively Fisherman’s Village. You’ll appreciate the close proximity to so many wonderful bars, restaurants, and shops.

The Coast Adults-Only Resort & Spa is also located at the northern end of the island, on Mae Nam Beach. If you are a childless adult and don’t want to be bothered by other people’s children splashing you in the pool, then this resort is perhaps the best place to stay on Koh Samui! It’s adults-only so you’re guaranteed to have a calm and relaxing stay.
The base rooms are actually really reasonably priced but it’s absolutely worth upgrading to a room with a private pool if you can. All of the rooms have simple, classic decor and are incredibly clean. And each features a flat-screen television set, a minibar, and complimentary toiletries.
You can choose to spend your afternoons relaxing at the large outdoor pool where you can order refreshing cocktails all day. Or you can enjoy the private beach area just out front. The resort offers various activities for guests to enjoy during their stay including yoga, cinema night, and occasional pool parties. For a small fee you can take the hotel shuttle to the nearby Fisherman’s Village or to Chaweng Beach. You’re bound to have a great stay at The Coast!
Still wondering where to stay on Koh Samui? Then check out the SALA Samui Choengmon Beach! It’s an amazing resort located on the northeastern peninsula, near the airport and the Big Buddha. If you are looking to splurge a bit and pamper yourself during your trip, then this is one of the best hotels on Koh Samui.

You can enjoy a view of either the garden or the sea from your own private balcony. Rooms are quite large, as are the incredibly comfortable beds. The delicious breakfast spread will get your day started off just right!
Guests can take advantage of the free shuttle to Lamai Beach for a change of scenery. But the resort pool is absolutely stunning and there is a peaceful beach right out front, you may not want to venture off the property! If you’re craving some adventure the resort has mountain bikes, motorbikes and jeeps available for hire and kayaks are available to borrow.
If you really want to indulge yourself during your tropical vacation, there’s no better place to stay on Koh Samui than at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui. This beautiful resort sits on Laem Yai Bay on the northwestern tip of the island and it’s the perfect place to get some rest and relaxation while the friendly staff goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you could ever need.

Spend your days lounging on this luxury resort’s private beach in a cabana, or by the gorgeous outdoor pool. Or opt for a relaxing massage on the beach. Even though this resort is in a more remote area of the island, you’ll be close to plenty of local restaurants and shops.
