3 Days in Seville: How to Plan the Perfect Weekend

3 Days in Seville: How to Plan the Perfect Weekend

Want to explore somewhere new but don’t have much time? Seville is the place for you. This beautiful Andalusian city is conveniently compact, so you can see loads in as little as 3 days!

I live in Spain and travel around a lot, trying to visit as many different places in the country as I can. I crafted this Seville itinerary so you can pack as much as possible into your weekend and make the most of your trip without being exhausted.

Rustic tapas bars, passionate flamenco tablaos, and impressive Moorish architecture line the streets of the ancient city and provide you with dazzling surroundings while you make your way through your weekend trip to Seville. Follow my itinerary and you’ll have the chance to see iconic attractions like the Metropol Parasol, as well as hidden gems like secret rooftop bars that look out over the city!

How to Spend a Weekend in Seville, Spain

Getting Around Seville

If you’re flying into the city for your weekend in Seville, you’ll land at Seville Airport (SVQ), also known as San Pablo Airport. I recommend hopping on a Tussam bus to get into the center of the city. These buses leave every 30 minutes from outside the arrivals main door.

As the city is so compact, walking is the best way to get around the central neighborhoods. But if you want to explore a little further afield, you can take advantage of the city’s fantastic public transport network.

With 44 routes, the Seville bus system is the best way to get around. This is closely followed by the tram system, which covers the area between Plaza Nueva and Seville Cathedral.

Seville Weekend Itinerary – Day 1

Begin your 3 days in Seville with an amazing breakfast at La Mala Brunch. Here you’ll find a huge selection of healthy ways to start your day, including plenty of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free options.

The croissant with cream cheese, sprouts, cucumber, and smoked salmon is my favorite. If you’d prefer a sweet breakfast, opt for one of the fresh smoothie bowls!

Metropol Parasol

3 Days in Seville Itinerary: Metropol Parasol

Your first attraction to visit is the most famous thing in the city – Metropol Parasol. Also known as the Setas de Sevilla, this iconic site is home to the biggest wooden structure in the world.

The unique bridge has 250 meters (820 feet) of walkways that take you around 6 parasols, which look a little bit like mushrooms (Setas de Sevilla means Seville’s Mushrooms). Your ticket includes a walk over the bridge, access to the 360° viewpoint, and a multisensory show called “Feeling Sevilla.”

Antiquarium

Seville 3 Day Itinerary Weekend Guide: Antiquarium

Head below the Metropol Parasol and you’ll find the Antiquarium. This fascinating archaeological site takes you on a journey through Seville’s history, from the 1st century AD up to the 13th century. Here you can wander around ancient ruins and imagine what the city looked like almost 2 millennia ago. The mosaics are incredibly well-preserved and astounding.

Tablao Flamenco Las Setas

3 Days in Seville Weekend Itinerary: Flamenco

Next up is an evening you’ll never forget. Tablao Flamenco Las Setas is one of the most famous and popular flamenco clubs in Seville. Traditional flamenco shows take place 3 times every evening and invite you to dive head-first into the passionate world of the ancient dance.

I suggest choosing the “Menu tapas + testing wines + dessert” option. You’ll get a front-row seat for the show, a small wine tasting, a selection of tapas, and a dessert.

Terraza Pinello

Weekend in Seville 3 Days Itinerary: Terraza Pinello

End the first part of your 3-day trip to Seville with some cocktails at Terraza Pinello. Set on the top of a boutique hotel, this rooftop bar offers fantastic views of the city’s colorful rooftops and some tranquility following the high-octane flamenco show. Here you can try one of Seville’s classic drinks – orange wine!

Seville Weekend Itinerary – Day 2

Catedral de Sevilla

Weekend in Seville: Cathedral de Sevilla

The second part of your 3-day Seville vacation begins with a tour of the local cathedral. While the building is a beautiful place to explore, I suggest you head straight for La Giralda.

This towering minaret is over 800 years old and rises high above the city. There are no steps to climb to reach the top. Instead, you have to walk up 35 ramps that wind their way to the summit!

There are plenty of spots to rest along the way, as well as rooms showcasing treasures from the cathedral. When you reach the highest peak, you’ll be rewarded with sensational views that stretch across the city for miles.

Restaurante El Giraldillo Sevilla

3 Days in Seville Itinerary: Restaurante El Giraldillo

Opposite La Giralda, you’ll find Restaurante El Giraldillo Sevilla. This popular hotspot has been around since 1978 and boasts fantastic views of the cathedral.

The seafood here is absolutely superb. I recommend starting with a traditional gazpacho (a local cold tomato soup) and then sharing some ostras (oysters), langostinos al ajillo (garlic shrimp), and chocos (grilled cuttlefish) with a side of the house-baked bread and extra virgin olive oil.

Plaza del Cabildo

Seville 3 Day Itinerary Weekend Guide: Plaza del Cabildo

When you’re full, it’s time to move on to the Plaza del Cabildo, which is just a short stroll away. This stunning attraction is made up of a crescent-shaped building adorned with beautiful arches, dazzling columns, and delicate paintings.

Small events like markets and public dance classes are held here sometimes. Even if there’s nothing going on during your visit, it’s still a fantastic place to take pictures.

Next up on your 3-day Seville itinerary is the Aire Spa. The ultimate place of relaxation, this indulgent spa is set inside a Mudejar-style palace that’s over 500 years old. The entire place is lit by flickering candlelight, creating a tranquil, intimate environment that will make all your cares dissolve.

The self-care ritual is my favorite thing to do here. For an unbeatable experience, I recommend adding on a visit to the infinity bath. This stunning outdoor pool boasts spectacular views over the cathedral and La Giralda.

Pelayo Bar de Tapas

3 Days in Seville Weekend Itinerary: Pelayo Bar de Tapas

End your second day in the city with dinner at one of the quirkiest restaurants in Seville – Pelayo Bar de Tapas. This one-of-a-kind place is brimming with bottles of local wine, ham legs hanging from the ceiling, eclectic trinkets littering the shelves, and old photographs of Seville. It’s absolutely packed with character!

As it is a tapas bar, I suggest ordering some tapas to share. The salmorejo cordobés (local cold soup with tuna, egg, and ham), espinacas con garbanzos (spinach with chickpeas), queso de cabra (goat cheese), and croquetas de cola de toro (oxtail croquettes) are all superb!

Seville Weekend Itinerary – Day 3

Begin the final day of your weekend in Seville with a wholesome organic breakfast at Bio Mio. This tiny cafe is located in the heart of the city and only ever uses locally sourced organic products from small producers.

I recommend trying any of the toasts – they’re all made from freshly baked sourdough bread. You’ve absolutely got to order one of the special colorful coffees, too. The pink latte made with dehydrated beets is gorgeous!

Real Alcázar

Weekend in Seville 3 Days Itinerary: Real Alcázar

When you’re fully energized, head for the Real Alcázar. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is where the Spanish royal family stays during official visits to the city. It’s a former Moorish palace with luxurious rooms, spectacular hallways, and majestic gardens just begging to be explored.

Take a look around and you’ll discover artwork from the Baroque, Renaissance, Gothic, and Mudejar periods, a testament to how long the palace has stood here.

Alimentación Ultramarinos Caliche

Weekend in Seville: Alimentacion Ultramarinos Caliche

A short walk away from the Real Alcázar is Alimentación Ultramarinos Caliche. This small grocery store is a fantastic place to pick up freshly baked bread, seasonal produce, local cured meats, aged cheeses, and Spanish wine. Have a look around and buy a few things to enjoy as a picnic as the final part of your weekend trip to Seville.

Premier Garden Cocktail Bar

3 Days in Seville Itinerary: Premier Garden Cocktail Bar

Next up on your Seville itinerary is the Plaza de España. But I suggest stopping off at the Premier Garden Cocktail Bar along the way. This sophisticated outdoor bar boasts an incredible cocktail menu that’s bursting with delicious drinks for surprisingly affordable prices. The “Mojito de la Casa” with spicy mango syrup is incredible!

Plaza de España

Seville 3 Day Itinerary Weekend Guide: Plaza de España

Continue on and you’ll soon come to the Plaza de España. Built in 1928, this giant crescent-shaped building features painted ceramic benches that represent all the provinces of Spain. If you’re familiar with Spanish geography, work your way around them and see how many provinces you can recognize.

There’s a huge lake around the square with cute bridges that cross over it and a thundering fountain in the middle. It’s a fantastic spot for photos!

Parque de María Luisa

3 Days in Seville Weekend Itinerary: Parque de María Luisa

End your 3-day trip to Seville with a picnic at the neighboring Parque de María Luisa. This sprawling park is over 100 years old and is teeming with bubbling fountains, frog-filled ponds, eye-catching statues, towering palm trees, and colorful flower beds. You can even take a private tour of the park if you want to find out more about it.

I hope you enjoy your weekend trip to Seville! Should I add something else to the itinerary? Let me know in the comments.
