The 12 Best Boutique Hotels in Siem Reap

No Southeast Asia trip would be complete without a stop at Siem Reap, Cambodia. This small but proud city is bursting with history, religious significance, and natural beauty. From the majestic temples of Angkor Wat to the floating villages on Tonle Sap Lake, you could spend weeks here and still not see everything!

Siem Reap is most famous for being the gateway to Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. This vast temple complex is a must-see for any visitor to Siem Reap and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Southeast Asia. But Angkor Wat is just the tip of the iceberg – there are hundreds of other temples and ruins in the area, many of which are equally as impressive.

In addition to its temples, Siem Reap is also home to a vibrant local culture. The city center is full of markets, shops, and restaurants, where you can find everything from traditional Cambodian crafts to fine French cuisine.

And just outside the city, you can explore the floating villages on Tonle Sap Lake or take a ride through the rice fields on an ox cart. No matter what your interests are, Siem Reap has something for everyone – and there’s no better place to start exploring Cambodia!

With so much to see and do, you’ll want a nice hotel to come back to at the end of each adventure-filled day. Luckily, Siem Reap boasts some of the best hotels and resorts in all of Southeast Asia.

Whether you’re looking for a luxurious spa resort or a celebrity-worthy retreat, you’ll find it here. The hardest part is choosing just one! That’s why we’ve put together a list of the 12 best hotels in Siem Reap to help you plan the ultimate getaway.

Where to Stay in Siem Reap

Where to Stay in Siem Reap, Cambodia: Best Boutique Hotels

If your itinerary focuses on Angkor Wat, you’ll want to pick a hotel that’s located close to the massive temple complex. Here’s a cool fact: Angkor Wat is just one of the many temples within the Angkor Archeological Park, which covers over 400 square kilometers! You actually need a few days to explore the whole park, so it’s best to stay close by.

Fortunately, there are plenty of amazing hotels that are near Angkor Wat but still near the center of Siem Reap. The key is to pick the perfect area to base yourself in. One of our top recommendations is Charles de Gaulle road, which connects the center of Siem Reap with the Angkor Archeological Park.

The boulevard is where you’ll find some of the most luxurious hotels in Cambodia, along with plenty of restaurants and bars. This area caters primarily to foreigners, so you’ll find essentials like money exchange shops, taxis and other transportation, and ATMs.

If it’s your first time in Cambodia, you need to try staying at the Old French Quarter at least once! This area is full of colonial-style buildings and European cafes, giving it a very different feel from the rest of Siem Reap. You can really feel Siem Reap’s French influence here, and you’ll never run out of things to do. Try going for a stroll down the riverside promenade or explore the many art galleries in the area.

In the Old Market area, you’ll find Siem Reap’s most popular tourist attractions, like the Night Market and Pub Street. It’s one of our favorite places to stay in Siem Reap because it’s so central and convenient. Everything’s here: restaurants of all kinds, bars, clubs, and even a casino! If you’re looking for a place to party, shop, and eat, the Old Market is definitely the area for you.

No matter where you stay in Siem Reap, all roads basically lead to Angkor Wat. It’s incredibly easy to get there from any part of town.
