Where to Stay Near Glacier National Park

If you’re looking to stay inside Glacier National Park, it’s important to note that these hotels open up for reservations 13 months in advance and they go quickly. So, for those who aren’t all that great about planning way ahead, this article is focused on hotels outside of the west entrance of the park, where most Glacier National Park hotels are located. That being said, you should still make reservations well in advance! 

You’ll find a range of excellent hotels in Whitefish, which is roughly 30 minutes from the park’s west entrance. A huge perk of staying in Whitefish is that you’ll be within walking distance of a ton of great bars, restaurants, and shops in the downtown area.

If you’d prefer to be based a bit closer to the entrance, the town of West Glacier is situated just outside the entrance, while Coram is less than 8 miles from the entrance. For something unique, you can choose to be based near Flathead Lake in Kalispell or Bigfork, which are roughly 40 to 60 minutes away from Glacier National Park, respectively.
