Cadillac Mountain is worth getting an early start so that you can see the sunrise. It’s the highest point on the Eastern Seaboard. After October 7, it’s actually the first place in the country where you can see the sun begin its climb into the sky. 

If you’d rather take in the beauty of the park without a car, you can take the carriage roads, which offer a motor-free byway to get around Acadia.
